Rosie McColgan - Chair

Rosie is a professional lecturer with over twenty years’ experience in teaching in Colleges. Rosie has taught Veterinary Nursing and is now acting as the lead IQA working with a number of awarding bodies such as VetSkill, City and Guilds, SEG Awards and the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) plus The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

Rosie has the following qualifications:

  • OCR D32/D33 Assessor Awards
  • City and Guilds IQA D34 Internal Verifier Award
  • Certificate in Teaching Ulster University
  • Vetskill Remote Invigilator

The Role of SafeCert Awards Chairperson

SafeCert Awards appoint a chair who is responsible for the leadership of the Board.

As part of this leadership role, the SafeCert Awards chair will:

  • Taking responsibility for the boards composition and development, by engaging overseeing the meetings.
  • Organise and conduct the Board’s agenda;
  • Ensure that the board members and the responsible person receive accurate, timely and clear information;
  • Ensure that adequate time is available for discussion of all agenda items, in particular strategic issues, and that this time is used productively;
  • Advise on any conflicts of interest;
  • Take a lead on governance matters; and
  • Engaging the board in assessing and improving its performance

The roles of chair and general manager shall not be exercised by the same individual and the division shall be established in writing and agreed by the Board.
