Paul Horsbugh

A past School Teacher with over twenty five years’ experience in the Education & Training arena, Paul completed his first degree in Building Engineering and Management and then went on to do further Post Graduate degrees in the following:

  • Personal Management for the member of the Chartered Institute of Personal and Development
  • Information Technology
  • PGCE – Post Graduate Certificate in Education

He then went on to finish the studies for graduate membership of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety.

Paul has worked in training and development for over 25 years and in the awarding body sector for over 10 years now.

THE ROLE OF BOARD MEMBER

Advisory non-voting Board Member who is also the responsible person/accountable officer for reporting and advising the Board.

As part of this advisory role, they will:

  • Present to the board the yearly self assessment and statement of compliance for the board to agree or request changes before its sent off to the regulators;
  • Present SafeCert Awards Business Plans;
  • Present to the board any action plans and audits from the regulators and action plans on how any action points will be resolved
  • Seek advice from any new qualification approvals and advice on further award developments;
  • Will present to the board any risk assessment such as business risk assessment as well as business continuity plans and seek advice on further improvement’s or changes;
  • Engaging the board in assessing and improving its performance
  • Advise on recruitment and selection, complaints and any instances of maladministration or malpractice
